I am a hair stylist and make up artist, specializing in Weddings, Special occasions, Sorority Events and Mobile Airbrushed Spray Tanning. I also provide Feather Extensions and Airbrush Makeup/ body painting /costume design and all in salon and on site, mobile services.
As a salon owner, I decided I really wanted to get out from behind the desk and explore my creative side “Behind the Chair”. I now work at Bluebird Salon (www.Bluebirdsalon.com) downtown San Luis Obispo, CA and I have been blessed to work with some amazing hair stylist, make up artists, designers and photographers including Greg Truelove, Eric Melendez and David Mecey Of Playboy, Tap Out, and Top Ten Models along with local photographer Kamil Konrad (http://kamilkonrad.com/blog/2011/03/ruby-skye-fashion-event-part-i/) and Director Robin Chilton. I have worked with Erica Ellyson, Penthouse Pet of the Year 2008, Skinny Magazine (Los Angeles and Los Vegas) Local Fashion Designers and shows…And that is how I became the stylist and make up artist that I am today.
I specialize in creative cutting and color, particularly vibrant color blocking, highlighting with natural or imaginative color and creative cut and color trends of the season. I try to avoid using any products or procedures that might damage your hair. Healthy hair is a key ingredient to achieving an easy manageable style, and my approach to color will give you a natural and vibrant look.
Education has always been a major part of my career. I attend several master cutting and coloring academies and seminars, and I understand the importance of continuing education, as well as its application to current trends and styles. As a colorist, I specialize in Schwarzkopf, Paul Mitchell, and Redken Hair color. I use and promote Bumble and Bumble hair products.
I draw most of my inspiration from music, fashion and everyday life from both today and decades past. I really embrace the the bang of the fifties, the beauty and glam our of the sixties and the swag of the seventies. I draw a lot of inspiration from family, my kids and from every woman walking down the street. I love creating beautiful and elegant looks but I jump at the chance to push the limits with creative color and edgy lines.
I enjoy creating a unique and custom hairstyle, personally tailored to compliment your lifestyle and accent your best features. I believe true beauty comes from within, and it is the smile at your reflection that brings out your inner most beauty.
The aspect of hairdressing I enjoy the most is the” Hair Flip”… I really love when I get the chance to make someone feel so good about the way they look…They can’t help but flip their hair all over the place and sneak peaks of themselves in mirrors as they walk past…It is such a great feeling to have the chance to use my artistry to create beauty everyday.
My clients that I draw are very cool, an eclectic group of wonderful women, men and kids. From my lovely Sorority girls…blushing brides, house moms, all the way to my edgy clients who like to push the envelope. Doing beautiful hair and make up is my passion.
